We’d designed and developed the first South West Jobs website six years prior. The website was very well received and helped South West Councils provide a much needed service.
South West Councils wanted to add more functionality and give the site a design refresh. Previously job owners logged into the website CMS via a very limited interface, however the new website should keep the user on the front end at all times, whilst providing the same functionality.
The new website design is exactly as South West Councils had requested. A clean design letting jobs in the South West take centre stage.
Candidates can search jobs based on region, category, salary or via keyword search. Jobs are automatically removed on the deadline date keeping the job data fresh and relevant.
Job owners manage their jobs all via a fully branded front end interface, providing a secure yet powerful and intuitive admin area.
Some Website Features
JOB SEARCH
Jobs are frequently updated by each South West Authority. Authorities add jobs via their own admin area, the search form allows candidates to find exactly the jobs that match their criteria.
FRONT END JOB ADMINISTRATION
Authorities manage jobs directly in the front end of the website. This keeps them within a fully controlled area, guiding them through a set group of actions making job management super easy.
Only website admin have access to the CMS, allowing them to manage all areas of the website, including jobs.
WORKS ACROSS ALL DEVICES
Websites are viewed across a wide range of devices. Website viewing stats for the South West Jobs website highlighted a large proportion of visitors used their tablets and mobile phones to access the website.
Being accessible doesn’t just mean that a website should work on mobile phones, it should also work for users regardless of ability. The South West Jobs website works with all main accessibility tools, including screen readers, text modifiers (size and colour) and translation tools.
